Why use a Follow me on Twitter Plugin ?

I was looking to Optimize my blog a little and I seen the Follow me Plugin for WordPress on My Sidebar and said what a waste of Space that is, As I have not seen a Massive Increase in Twitter Followers since I started using it but I have noticed that I am getting less Search traffic than I was before Installation of the WordPress plugin.

Another Reason is that I have the Topsy Plugin which is like Tweetmeme and Decided that if people really wanted to Follow me on twitter the best thing they could do is give my post a tweet using the topsy plugin for wordpress .Then they would know my twitter id and they could follow me on Twitter.

The Same goes for RSS Buttons they are just a waste of Space as most people know that you can simply Subscribe to a blog feed simply by clicking the RSS icon in the Address bar of your Browser and Adding it to your Selected Feed Reader

Does Twitter ever help anyone? I find it’s good to link up to people (other bloggers) that are doing the same thing you’re doing… but are these people really coming to your site? Or are they just getting more followers? Will these people make you money in the long run? Probably not! Usually bloggers won’t click on ads or buy anything. What then?

  2. Actually I was thinking of Changing the Topics Covered on this blog to a Higher Paying niche like a Celebrity Blog I think that the First Story I will cover is About the Movie Julie and Julia which is a movie about blogging and I could Gradually phase out my blog and Start Talking about Movies on My Blog. Then I could Sell cinema tickets or even give away free movie tickets on my blog meaning that I would have many returning visitors to my Movie Blog

lol Julie and Julia? Never watched it! The bad thing about doing Celebrity Blogs is that there are ten thousand of them and they all use copyright images! Not good with Google! But I do agree about getting a niche. Without a niche, blogging is useless.

Everytime I come here it looks different, ha! I don’t know where to go… :)

  4. I have not watched the Movie either as for copy writing that is also a problem. As for the Niche I have that planned read my Article Outsourcing your Blog I think sometimes you are Better off with an Autoblog and fill it up with Popups like all the Movie and Game Sites that are Filled with Popups. But sometimes I blame the Advertisers for Writing Crappy Ads could be one of the Reasons Bloggers are not making money .
