5 Tips to Make Your Site as Easy as 1-2-3 #Navigation

People visiting sites do not want to scroll endlessly to read pages this is why many search visitors leave forums instantly. I am not going by any statistics here but general chat with people I meet and discuss Internet and Website Usage with.

When I say here Make Your Site as Easy as 1-2-3  I actually mean after visiting a page and scrolling 3 times with my mouse wheel I become Impatient and will quickly hit the back button. As an experienced browser user I know to press F3 to find the Exact Keyword I am looking for one the page I am reading there is an extension from Google chrome that will skip to the keywords on the page you are reading after a search query called Google Quick Scroll but most visitors to your site will not be using such browser tools and probably  even worse visiting your site with Internet Explore 6 :).

Some Simple Navigation Tips for your site

Try to keep your Sidebars inline with your content do not use a sidebar that is 2000 pixels long when you only have 100 words of content.

Place Tag Clouds in the Footer if you use them as they look clutters in the Sidebars of most templates.

If you do not  have many Pages try using Categories in your Header instead

Don’t Always Link to Your other Articles just to get more Pageviews and build internal links in the content text I am not going to read
blog posts just to understand one either is anyone else. Although to follow the tips in this post you will need to read some articles and tutorials about site navigation.

Do not use massive header Images, More and more people are using small screen computers like netbooks and mobile devices to read websites try making a mobile version of your site also configure your navigation to suit small screen visitors.

There are many ways to Improve Navigation the important thing to remember is to just make everything easy to find for your visitors and they will come back to your site again or maybe not it depends what they were looking for does it not ?.

Profit from Every Visitor that Leaves your Site

When visitors leave your site and do not complete any of your requested goals it is a little annoying.  It is not a large amount of money but the using adf.ly url shortening service it is possible to make money from every visitor that leaves your site through links. Smarter LinkBuilding Using Webmaster Tools and your Sitemap

Building Links to Other blog Pages and Posts.
When I checked Webmaster Tools I seen that I have an ever Increasing amount of Back links to some of the Posts on My Blog and not just my Homepage. This is because I have been using some Smart linkbuiding tricks when commenting on other Blogs using Name URL form of blog comments and by linking to older posts using my site map as a quick reference.With a Few small Steps you could also increase the Amount of links to other Pages of your Blog

Building links to your blogposts starts with a few small steps.

1*Check how many links you have to other pages of your blog in Webmaster tools
2*Bookmark your Sitemap
3*When blogwalking go to your sitemap and press F3 to find the post that you are looking to link to
3*Comment with the Url of the Related Blog post or Even Tag
4*Look through your sitemap for posts that you think you may need to build links to
5*If you do not have a Sitemap get one or just use your Feed
6*Register with Commentluv so you can easily Access your last 10 blog Posts from Commentluv enabled Sites

Pointing comments Increases Pageviews and Subscribers

By using the Name/URL of the Comment form wisely and pointing your comments to Internal Pages and Tags of your Site you are making a better Landing Page for your blog because if you Point a link to a Related Topic then the chances that the Person will subscribe or even just look at more pages of your Blog Increases.So the Next time you are Blogwalking and commenting don’t just do an easy comment do a smart comment that will point the visitor in the direction of the Article they have  just read.

You can just as Easily use your Feed but sometimes it is also good to link to Tags and categories.This is why the Sitemap method is much better also if you have ads in your feeds you will not wish to Inflate Feed Ad Impressions
