How LinkBaiting is Sucking your Google Juice
I am going to write some linkbait and post some links to some of the A-listers best blog posts, This might sound like a good Idea to some because they are referring to some the top blog posts on the web about Facebook or another topic, but doing this I am Passing on All my google juice to those A-listers who will never link back to my List post they win I loose.
What happens when you link Bait
You write a list of popular blog posts from around the web and link to them, but most of these blogs are no-follow and you pass your hard earned page rank on to them but get none in return. The A-listers will pay no Attention to your post and never comment on it so there is not much point in creating link bait with high pr blogs because you will just loose much google juice linking to these Articles with much higher page rank.
A better way to write list posts that link to Articles from Around the Web.
Who comments often on your blog or has you on their blogroll what is a good Article from their blog,Why not link to your freinds and then get them to comment on the post this will strengthen the power of the links between you and your blogging friends websites.Give a little Bloggerluv to Blogs that you know and the Author is a Blogging friend not a so called blogging Icon.
Use Nofollow Reciprocity.
At the bottom of this page you will see a link to a wordpress plugin called Nofollow Reciprocity. This means when I link to another pr3 blog it will be do-follow but if I am to link to a site like Amazon there is no google juice passed on.This will give my Blog better linking power when linking out from a blog post.
What else you can do instead of so called linkbaiting
Linking to Blogging friends Articles is much better than linking to the A-listers because you are providing your readers with the chance to read interesting blog posts that they have never got the chance to read. The chances that your readers have read the posts from the A-listers are higher so you are not providing anything new to your readers.
