Burnout On New Technology When You Just Have Enough ?.

Do you have Technology Burnout ?

Technology is supposedly a way of making our lives easier, If this was the case I would not have all this cable clutter in my room at this very moment. Today I am in love with a technology but I have to keep to myself and will not share it with you. Do you know why I will not share this technology with you?, Well it’s like this what I am using will require you to change how you think and people never like that their supposedly open minds are permanently shut down when it comes to doing their own thinking. Because if I shared this software with you should something go wrong you would be cursing me into the ground just like the people who told me the following things would make my life more easy.

Currently I Just Hate These Technologies Maybe That Will Change

Tablet Computers
Since buying my Archos 7 ht I only use it maybe every second day to either check emails or send videos to my roku lt via the plex app for the roku player. But I charge it nearly every night simply because sync is enabled or I left wifi turned on or something else. To avoid battery drainage now when I charge it I immediately switch to root access by typing “su” and then typing “halt” to kill the device. This is because a service called “cell standby” is responsible for some 78% of Battery use even though the device contains no sim card. I looked at multiple ways of disabling the service by changing file permissions and renaming files until I decided just to live with the problem as it was not that big of a deal, I was After trying 4 or more root file managers and wasting countless hours installing and navigating the app interface I think I have tried everything and it’s just a Gingerbread related issue, Yes I Did say Gingerbread which is not the default android version on the Archos7ht but Eclair so I wasted time installing that too, As now I can no longer access the internal hard drive on the device via my desktop it’s one of those things you have to accept when you decide to upgrade a firmware not approved by the creators of the device, But Gingerbread is better in my case anyway if may not be for you as I do not use the device to play media which is another problem with Gingerbread on the Archos7ht the firmware original version had these little buttons to adjust the volume quickly instead of going into the sound settings. Like when would you ever need to turn down you volume quickly.

Bluetooth
Ha this one is a real joke not only does it drain all you battery power it also hogs lots of your system memory. I got caught with this one too bought a creative D100 which sounds good and works well with some of the phones I had but I have it now under my desk connected via analogue because it’s the best way should anything go wrong I just pull out the cable. I thought that since I had a Bluetooth adaptor on my desktop I could put the speaker in another room and play songs from my computer and listen to them there maybe it’s possible but I no longer care to configure my computer to do so, I would just rather transfer the files to a micro sd card and listen to them via bluetooth over my phone till the battery goes dead after 3 songs.

Wireless
Sick of all that clutter on your desk go get yourself some wireless devices, Forget your USB mouse, Keyboard ,Printer, Headphones and Network Go Wireless be Free From Clutter Forever. Some of this may be true but after just buying the Adapter and Mouse I find myself looking for batteries. Booting up Mouseless I know a few desktop shortcuts but most systems do not like when the mouse is not working and constantly being disconnected from the internet while uploading. As for the rest I was nearly caught except the printer I do not have or want a printer if I have to print something I will put it in Google Docs and Go to the library and let them keep the printer working, Because I don’t need a printer of any kind I have enough papers laying about here to me they are just a waste of electric and are never working when you need them unless they are being used often stay away from printers as the oatmeal comic says printers are from hell. And wireless one’s can’t be any different.

Smartphones
I spend enough time on the internet as it is and don’t need a smartphone not that I would not take one for free but a phone with an mp3 player is enough for my needs. I do not want another thing needing to be updated and I find if I have to go anywhere for a little longer period of time I will take my Tablet and it’s Charger.

But Love These Gadgets

Cameras

I have two cameras one is a Fuji Z70 which I use to make my youtube videos and carry about in my pocket nearly everywhere I go most of the time I prioritise it over my phone my motto is “You may get a missed call or text that you can reply to later but you will never get to see that beautiful sunset again” unless it was someone who can’t understand you were just appreciating nature and the world, If it was they are probably not worth knowing. My other camera is also a Fuji but a bit more Advanced I can take it with me but find it a little bulky to be carrying about on my daily strolls even though this horrible town in a beautiful place.

My Roku Player Screw TV

Although it works over wireless, I love my roku so much I sometimes take it with me when I go on holidays even though I never have any holidays but if I did my roku would come with me, It’s like taking your satellite dish, Music and DVD library not to Mention your photo collection if you know how to use it the way it was designed to be used. My roku means I look at my own TV station in short and “if it’s not on Roku it’s not worth watching” . Some Apps I recommend for the Roku are Plex, Flickr, Couchy, Nowhere Archive and Facebook you can also get free porn on the roku if you want it not that I would be looking at anything like that well at least not that often anyway :).

The Next Great Technology
Each day new stuff comes out especially on the crazy smartphone market but I am not that interested in a phone that will pause the video when you look away. Actually I do not think there is anything on the Technology market at the moment that I want. I could get a Flat TV as I only have a tube one but the Roku connects also via anologue and I spend most of my time on my computer anyway. I have small guitar amp not small enough according to my neighbours sometimes and know how to connect it to my computer to play music on it extra loud even when I am not at home should I need to someday. How about you do you care about any new technology or are you just sick of all the hype and more interested in the real world. As for the new technology I love I can’t tell you the name of it because you would have to change your Operating System for a Start and it’s free so it can’t be that good so you would not be interested. Plus you would be slightly offended if I suggested you using it in the first place. But it may not be the Technology you need and everyone’s needs are different people blog that you need things or you will be left behind and try to use this fear as a marketing tool don’t always believe what you read online I know your smarter than that, But if you are reading things that are telling you that you are smart watch out for that too.

3 Things You Need To Be Entertained Online

For a long time people have been waiting for a perfect entertainment solution that does not cost the earth. Cable and Satilite channel subscriptions cost too much for most and many of us don’t have televisions that are not connectable to our desktops and laptops. Also all that extra power being consumed by having to leave a desktop system powered up not to mention the noise of most  desktop computers would be too distracting and I find that when I am looking at movies on my computer it can happen that someone mentions something and I end up reading a wiki article instead of  just letting it ponder until the end of the movie.

Looks like you need a Roku

So you need something less distracting to watch online movies or documentaries like a Roku player it’s my favorite gadget after my camera. If you are looking to buy a roku then look no further I have one of these devices and when combined with a plex media server and Netflix all your entertainment needs are sorted. Buying a Roku player to stream media to your TV no matter if it’s the latest smart TV or just a crappy old tube tv like I have with scart and rca connections makes it possible and it very low on power consumption. 205627_Streaming made simple.

Netflicks is the easiest way to find movies to stream online

Don’t have Netflix get it from here Roku.com – The Affordable On Demand Player! Click here! – 30-day Money Back Guaranteeand support this site so I can raise enough to buy a decent Telly and lot’s of other things that I can do with and give me more incentive to publish more content here :) but you don’t have to pay for it just yet as you can get a free month from Netflix if you don’t like it you don’t have to pay try it for a month and see what you think. Personally I live alone and am not really into movies that much but as for anyone with a family it is a good value online entertainment solution since there are many kids shows and documentries on it. As I was too busy with my blogs I stopped using Netflix since I never had time to watch it and also my I.S.P had a very low bandwidth cap of only 30 gb now I get 10 times that with another provider so I might try it again it’s just a matter of reopening my account

Plex Media Server

Plex is what I use most as I need to switch off and watch something depending on the mood I am in mostly very boring documentaries so I will quickly fall asleep :) or even more boring my own videos. With plex I just add a browser bookmarklet and send YouTube videos to my media queue and have the plex app for the roku player installed so I can watch them on my TV and not have to listen to my nvidia card which does make much noise at times. Plex is free but there is also a paid version with more features. But you have to pay for the plex app for android even though it is possible to send videos to your play queue via a special email address that you can find in your plex account. Plex runs on Windows, Linux and Mac

Run Java Apps and games on your android using Jbed?

All Android users who migrated from Symbian phones always miss their favorite Java and J2ME applications. However, there is a possibility to run the Java application, if you are using Android 1.5 to 2.2.
If you want to use Java applications and enjoy Java games on your Android, you can download and install JBED Android Java Emulator. According to XDA developers, you can run any Java games or applications on Android using the JBED. Using a signed package for easy installation, you can flash it in ClockWorkMod version 2, 3 and 4. You can download it free from the given links. JBED is already tested on HTC Wildfire and it is obvious that it will work on other Android devices as well. You can find this app in the Android market.
JBED is an .apk application that allows you to run .jar and .jad games and application on your Smartphone. You can easily download and install it on your Smartphone to run any Java applications.
Andriod phones can be installed with more then 40, 000 Java games and applications using JBED. The application also comes with Android J2ME MIDP runner.
In the following steps, I will tell you how to run Java and J2ME applications on your Android phone. Now, you do not have to forget or leave your Java applications that you were using from a long time.

Installation steps:
A.Download and JBED 1.0 for your Android choose the correct Jbed installation package for your android running version check the Jbed website for more information

B. Unzip the file and you will see Jbed.apk and libjbedvm.so

C. Run the Jbed.apk to install the application as well as move libjbedvm.so to /system/lib and restart your phone
D. Launch the application and click on SD card from menu.
E. Choose the JAR file that you want to install and run.
F. Install the Java apps that you want to use.
G.Click on the Java apps that you installed and run.
The app compiles and optimizes the Jar files and asks the user whether he wants to use it or not. It also displays the path of all the Jar files that are compiles in its database for quick access.
You can install and run any Java applications following the above steps. If you see some lines or faded screen while installing the JAR files, that means your device is not fully supporting it. Restart your phone and close any other apps, and try again. If the same problem occurs again then please uninstall JBED.

Conclusion
As said earlier, the app enables the Android Smartphone to run many Java games and applications but as it is new and Java apps has a long history of running poorly on their native platforms, you can expect some graphical and performance related issues.
