Need More Than Byte Size Videos YouTube

Making Watching YouTube More Like Watching TV And Relaxing

A guy falling hahaha or whatever blooper you would like to call it may seem funny to some but what is not funny is the lack of video content being promoted that requires the attention span of more than 2 minutes. Each night I try to find documentaries, Long pieces of music that are not very variable in volume levels and just relaxing stuff to watch on my roku to help me sleep.

These byte size programs can be funny at the right time but YouTube despite it’s knowledge of my previous serch terms never seems to recommend anything longer than 5 minutes to watch.  Do you feel this happens to you quite often if so make a comment below.

How To Find Longer Programs On YouTube

Do Your Search Term On Google “Not YouTube”

Click Videos

Then Click Search Tools

After That Click On The Drop Down Menu “Any Duration” And Select “Longer Than 20 Minutes”

Now you can select videos to view that you can sit back and watch in comfort without jumping up to find something else to watch ever 2 minutes.

For A Better YouTube Experience

The Roku lt is not officially supported by YouTube but  you can install plex and bookmark videos to watch on it later.  If you have a device like the Roku Player if Not Get One Here by clicking this Image  and this video tells you how to use plex on your Roku. The Video Quality is not great but that’s because of the TV I had then it was a tube TV but you can still see what to do check it out in this video about the Plex App for the Roku

Why this Driver Is Uploaded Here

I had just moved and forgot my wireless adaptor and have no easy access to a wired connection. I bought a ralink rt 2800 usb device in a computer repair shop around the corner as I like to buy local when I can.  It worked out of the box on windows xp sp 3 with wireless zero config but as I like to play around with my hard drives and format them often I just wiped my windows XP installation because I was bored the other day. Later I tried Reinstalling Windows XP but only had Service Pack 2, Then I tried my Vista CD and enabled Zero Config but it still did not work. Then I tried Windows 7 and Still the Same Story.

As was left with no network connection because the Ralink usb device does not work easily under Linux which I mostly use it’s possible to install but how can you download build essentials when you don’t have access to a network in the first place. Since the installation instructions require other additional packages also . Anyway I though I could just download the windows drivers on my tablet but to download them it requires a name and email on the mediatech website the new name for ralinks official site.  Anyway I noticed that after giving my name and email nothing happened and thought that the driver would be emailed to my inbox and found nothing when I checked it. The problem was that after you give your name and email on a desktop computer the download will start. But this does not happen when you do so on a tablet device so I have uploaded the device driver to dropbox here is the link.

I do not care what ralink think about me doing this,  The way I see it is I have paid for the device to work and it did not come with any installation cd or anything it just came in a bubble wrap package and looked like something you would buy on some Amsterdam street corner. No instructions, No Install CD lack of support on the Website and not mobile visitor friendly. As for Linux support well it’s like giving a homeless guy €50 compared to telling him you seen someone throw 20 cents in the river the other day. Sure if he needed that 20 cents he knows where it is but is that really helping him out ?.

Cross YouTube Channel Promotion Guest Vlogging

Today I create a video review for JazzGuitarChords lite and uploaded it to my YouTube channel for this site. However in the video I include the name of my instrumental music site and not this one. You may ask why I did not just upload it to my instrumental music channel instead but I found that the app review was relevant to both channels and it was a good way to do a good cross YouTube channel promotion. Just like many do with in text links in blog posts via guest posting I instead done guest vlogging. Have you thought about this giving other YouTube channels a video to post to their channel ? I would not jump at it too much because for a start uploading times alone would put me off when I am uploading to YouTube I can’t do much else on-line as it seems to hog all my bandwidth. So most of the time while I am uploading I will do things like clean up my desktop or browse system files such as photos I have taken or look though video clips to see if there is anything I might be able to use for my channel in the future.

The other thing about Guest Vlogging is that the ROI for Video is not that Good for many YouTube uploads. For a start there are ads and related videos in the sidebar +1 notifications and many other distractions and if you ever thought you would like to try Guest Vlogging you better make a very convincing video that will make people visit your website unlike this pathetic app review that would give anyone the blues.
