Taking time to discover the truth potential of your device’s is something many never even think about before running out and buying the next so called better model.
Sure had I waited a little longer I could have bought something, Better than this archos7 but it was in the store on the day I wanted it and the cash was in my pocket.
The first problem I ran into with the archos7 was that it lacked flash support Then the other was that the default marketplace appslib was full of junk apps which few of them actually worked.
So I searched about a little and discovered that I could root my archos7 and get the Google play store on the archos7 with the help of this tutorial. Then I ran into another problem which was that I could no longer mount the device on my desktop which is not really a problem since I can easily transfer files to a micro sdcard and transfer them again to the devices internal storage.
What I hated about upgrading to gingerbread from eclair was before there were simple and easy to access volume control buttons on the home screen. With gingerbread I have to install a volume control app or just remember where the settings are this can be annoying as despite living alone I do not live in a detached house and the speakers. on the archos7 can get quite loud with high quality mp3 files.
Just some weeks ago my TV was not working that well it’s one of those old ones with just scart connections I do not have the money for a new one and noticed the problem with the TV was just that the colour was fading because it was on too much. When you give them a rest or open them and clear out the dust they seem to work normal again. But just a warning the tubes in old TVs contain about 300000 volts so be careful..
As a person who has spent over a year without TV at a few staged of my life I did not miss TV much.So I hat been watching some programs on my tablet sure it was not the same buy it kept me entertained. Speaking of entertainment and TV. one of my primary uses of this tablet is to send online video to my roku player from opera. Despite opera not supporting flash all I need to do is share the URL of the video via a special email I have been given in my plexapp account and watch it nearly instantly on my roku .
I can also do things like write emails, view my photos and best of all write blog post drafts then attach them to an email make any corrections needed but without a proof reader spelling and grammatical mistakes are unavoidable all of the time. How I do this is using a simple app called writer for android it may not be the best writing app for android devices but it works well on low end tablets otherwise I would have never written this post. I guess this crappy device is not so bad after all once I know it’s true potential.
