Sharing Private Video in WordPress
Last week I seen a video embedded on a blog that was private. I do not know the reason for this video being embedded but it made me think about checking embedded video on blogs for broken links, You do not want visitors reading content about a video when the video does not display. So if you do not intend this happening you may wish to password protect private video embeds on your wordpress blog. Doing this is easy all you do is create a new blog post and mark it private, Then set a password and give it to anyone you wish to read that page , They could be friends, family or paid members. This is good if the video you are sharing is your own, But if the videos you embed on your site are not this means that at anytime the owner of those videos can turn off video embedding or set new video privacy settings. When the video embedding sharing or viewing privacy settings have changed. Videos that are embedded on your site will show that the video is private or embedding is disabled by the youtube account.
Adsense in Youtube Account Tip
If you have a video that many sites have embedded make sure that you have adsense for hosted content enabled, This way your ads show in the video even when it’s not shown directly on your youtube channel.
