Creating your Own Twitter Background
The Majority of Twitter users either use a free Twitter Background like the default background that are available from twitter and some other sites giving away free twitter backgrounds. To stand out more on twitter sometimes people will create their own twitter background using image enhancement programs like Photoshop or gimp.Creating a custom twitter background can be time consuming and require good skills in photo editing programs if you think you can create your own twitter background you need to know the dimensions of the image you are going to use as your twitter background. The Ideal Dimensions of a twitter background are 1280×800 as this is the resolution most people use according to my stats anyway over the past 30 days.If you wish to know how to create your own twitter background using Photoshop then you can follow this tutorial here.
Selling Twitter Backgrounds is also a Big Business
While many of us do not know how to use photo editing programs effectively enough to create a stunning and professional twitter background it is also an option for people who can to offer their designs to websites that will buy their backgrounds just like people sell website and blog themes.Ideally your twitter background should be like the background of your website if you can create stunning backgrounds why not contact some of the sites selling twitter backgrounds and submit your design for a fee. Optionally you could also market your services on a website or blog but this can be hard to do as the sites selling the backgrounds will have a wider reach in the market..

I never tried this before but I think I’ll do a test to see how it would impact my followers if I change the background. I used to have a custom background but took it down after I got bored with it.
Thanks for the share.
Cheers, Remi
Thanks Remi, Well it depends on your business needs from Twitter. If you are Branding yourself as a Webdesign expert or some kind of best new tech site it would help to have a very professional twitter background as image is important in these industries.
Well roezer, I’m in the middle of the spectrum, when it comes to PhotoShop et. al. I love their potential but I don’t have the time to get all into the advanced stuff.
As for Twitter backgrounds, I learned the hard way that your background will be COVERED by the Twitter container if a browser window is resized to a smaller area. I’m not entirely sure what you can do about image placement to minimize this, but if you’re paying good money for a background, you’ll want to be aware of the layout.

Mitch
Thanks Mitchell,
