This was a Problem that I had when I used Lubuntu that I was asking for the Root Password Sometimes Distros will ask for the root Password this is normal.If you are asked for the Root Password when Running Ubuntu and Other Linux Distros just type the following commands to change the Default Unix Password.
username@user-laptop:~$ sudo passwd
[sudo] password for user:
Enter new UNIX password:
Retype new UNIX password:
passwd: password updated successfully
username@user-laptop:~$
Remember that when you type passwords in linux they do not show on the screen
