We sit there wondering on how to get traffic and sometimes the Answer to Driving Traffic to our Website is Staring us in the Face by doing some Website Traffic Analysis and understanding where we have been successful in getting traffic to our blogs we can build upon what has Brought us Traffic to our Blog or Website and drive more traffic to your website. This is where News and celebrity blogs Fail because they have no real Timeless Content so you Need to Write about things that will still Bring Traffic in a Years time like Writing a Blog Post about Getting Traffic To your Blog for Example because I believe that as Long as there are blogs people will be Searching for Ideas to Get Blog Traffic.

Choose Topics with Less Competition get’s you More Traffic

Think about your Blog if you just Write Blogging you will have lots of Competition, Now think about things Related to Blogging you have a Much better chance of getting Traffic for an Article on Managing Blog Content than you would on things like Blogging Tips.This can also be Broken Down in Subcategories when writing content like Editing your Blog Theme in WordPress.

Website Submission to Web Directories and Article Directories

Go to the Open Directory and Search for Directories and Submit to the Web Directories that are Already Included in the DZOM if the Directories are not in the Open Directory Project then Do not Bother with submission as they are not yet Established Directories. Article Directories depending on the Goals of your Blog are worth Considering but do not waste too much time building up someone elses website when you should be creating content for your own read should you Submit to Article Directories for the Pros and Cons of Article Directory Submission.

Blogging communities bring some Traffic
Mybloglog, Blogcatolog and Many others are a Great way to find other Blogs and Network with Other bloggers and get some Visitors use them to learn from other bloggers and Build Blog Relationships but do not Spam the other Members with Visit my Blog Messages if they Want to Visit you they Will.

Blog comments send Traffic over Time
Commenting on other Blogs will bring some Traffic most of the Time if may only be the Admin to see if they will link your Comment so you get one Visit at least for a Good comment you will get many Visitors Over Time this is a thing people forget they make a comment today andit does not bring many visitors but over Time it may Bring 100′s which all adds up.Because Blog Traffic is not just about Today it is about over a period of Time also.If people Comment on your Blog Answer them this will Bring Returning visitors

Website Promotion using Social networking Sites for Instant Traffic
Sites like Digg and Stumble upon may bring you high traffic to your articles but you need to be active and have many friends to get higher karma or a very good Article. Twitter is also a good way to Bring in Traffic just as long as you have a Very good Title because this will be how your Article is Displayed to your followers just the Title. Other sites like Readdit and Propeller are also Know to Bring some Traffic but Readdit Visitors are Quick to give Tumbs Down so only submit your best there.

Forums for Building Links to your Site bring Little Traffic

Like Blog comments you Can get Visitors from Forums but it is the Value of your Comment that may bring some traffic forums are better for link building and Information but not Really good unless you have a Catchy Forum Signature link that Relates to the Topic of the Forum.Also it is a Good Idea to Look at the Title of the Thread when Posting a Thread with a Good Headline Can Bring Many Visitors you need to be there with your Voice Standing out in that thread

Advertise your Blog with Adgitize, Entrecard and other Cheap Advertising Programs

If you can write good Ads or Make an Appealing Image using Adwords to Drive visitors through Advertising can be the Best way to Promote your Blog or Website but if you are not careful with Adwords and Select your Targeting and Budget correctly you could like many end up going Broke using Adwords.For those that Have no little or No money to Advertise they can try using Adgitize or Entrecard as a way to Get traffic.There are also Many ways like Craigs list for Free online Advertising for your Website

The Best way to Drive Traffic to your site is using Search Engine Optisimation which is a never ending process and can be learnt over time.Through practice SEO can Be Learnt Easily but there are enough articles talking about this topic for me to say anything that might help you with this. Just think What would you Search for when you are looking for information on your Blog Topic then Apply it to an Article.

Wow. This is the best article you’ve ever written. Well done! :) Forums are one place I don’t really go. Same with Directories. I don’t bother with them. I leave most of my work up to Google and it does a good job sending me visitors. Granted I have 1000 pages of niche articles, so it seems to like that! It’s all in the quality of the content. Forums seem to Be filled with Time Wasters I bought a Signature Link it was not Much but the Person had over 1000 posts in DP combined with my Own 250 plus Forum Posts. Amount of Traffic about 4 Uniques per Month.Directories seem to be another Badge on your Site slowing the Page down and making another DNS request sitewide.The Amount of traffic from Directories I get is about 1 visit per submission that is the Administrator of the Directory.

That’s why I decided to invest a few months into seeing if my approach using EntreCard would produce traffic. I think the core value is there if I can find enough others who are willing to apply them.

Entrecard is great Exposure for blogs that otherwise would not Stand a Chance of Ever been seen by Many people.Mainly because Most are Beginners and fail to see that Page size is Important and Clutter the Sidebars with Gadgets, Spinning Globes Feedjit widgets and Many More all making the Pages Slow and Unpleasant for Visitors. I think you could build much Traffic Teaching these People the Basics of Blog Design and Navigation and How it Affects the Traffic Coming to your Blog.

You know you really touched a point there… It’s not about copying others and reproducing their content. It’s about how to be unique and interesting at the same time.
Sometimes I myself forget this principle…
Anyways, thanks for your feedback on traffic. I can say now that bookmarking your articles definitely works and also connecting with other blog owners on MyBlogLog and BlocCatalog as you mentioned.
My search engine traffic is only high when I write specific articles targeted to small niches with specific problems.
The thing with SEO is pretty simple: make sure you have links back to your blog. As many as possible. Backlinks are the backbone of your search engine traffic.
But as you said Roezer, there’s a lot to cover about SEO…

One thing I have used is the Services of MyBloglog Profiles if you can get people to Add you to their Delicious network and other sites like Digg, Stumble upon and even things like Last Fm can Get you Traffic if you are Active.Luring Visitors from Search Engines Can be hard but you need to know that you only write one in 10 articles for Search Engines the Rest for Normal Readers.People do keyword research on every Article they Write but then the Whole blog Looks unnatural. With some Search optimized Articles and the Correct Navigation you can get better conversions from your Search Traffic.

Yep I noticed the same that forums and blog directories are not brining much traffic. I used to have 15-20 labels directed to different directories and it only slow down the page load. Removed everything and it is all going well after that

They not only bring little traffic but also take up so much time they send you endless emails and kick you out for stupid rules then you have 1000′s of forum posts and no link to your site.

Directories are kind of Dated when was the Last time you Visited a Site from a Directory they are also very Time Consuming.

I have been having a few problems with my computer so it took me sometime to reply ,Actually thats another way to get traffic write about the problems you are getting with your computer and I bet there are 1000′s of others with them and looking for solutions.Adgitize and Entrecard are quite good to get visitors to new blogs but take much time.I paid $14 a month to adgitize entrecard is free but made very little back from the time I spent using the sites.But I did get a few good comments from visitors from Adgitize and entrecard which all ads up in the long run.

Backlinks are still important page rank seems to be dead though as page rank was determined by the amount of people using the google toolbar visiting your site much like alexa rank. Now google are not that interested in the toolbar because they are promoting the use of their own web browser chrome. , But you still need to focus on a little on backlinks.

You already know that links have something to do with traffic.
And if you are not entirely sure about what it is that makes
links a actually excellent means for getting traffic, it has to do with Google.
Google, as well as the other search engines, grades websites by links.
It is as if a website gets a little vote in confidence, every time
second web asset links to that particular website.
So this is the name of the game: for Google, and for
the internet search engines, you have to build your quantity of links.
This is a huge barrier for most marketers.
